Not all Heroes wear capes.

Morning  - Firstly I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while - I have been very busy at work. I have made this card as a little colouring therapy for me as a break from work but also to show my thanks for all those first responders and people who risk there safety on a daily basis -I include all the emergency services in that - not just the police!
I'm sure you will all have seen the horrific news and footage of events in Manchester last week on the 22nd May. I got called into work in Manchester at 11.30 pm that evening to help deal with the incident but I was in a safe location away from any risk so I do not consider myself as one of the "heroes" but I feel priviledged to have been able to do my bit to help all those affected.
So I hope you don't mind my card being a slightly different take on the challenge theme of Super Heroes over at I love Promarkers using this image from Digital Delights called Policeman Scottie.

The Worker bee is a symbol of Manchester and represents resilience and the work ethic of industrial Manchester so this paper from Authentique called Be(you)tiful Persevere was perfect. The blue paper is from Papermania as is the ribbon of Union Jacks.
I used a Die-namincs banner die to cut the banner in gold card and used Doodlebug letters to add the letters and a red Hobbycraft heart.
I used Harolds ABC alphabet from Lawn Fawn to spell out and stamp the greeting.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Hair - Umber & Cinnamon
Uniform - Storm Blue, Twlight Sky, Midnight Blue & Indigo Blue
Hat & Shoes - Cool Greys.
I also used a touch of black and a gold pen to add some metallic details.

I hope you like my card - it was first chance to colour for a while so it was definatly a way of relaxing. I don't know about you but I don't really think about anything else when I am busy using my pens.

Thanks for stopping by - Please leave a comment so I know who's beeeeen!

UR Awesome

Morning - Here is another card I have made using Kenny K stamps whilst I am a Guest Design Team member! This image is called Download Diva
and I though she was just perfect for this paper...
So question - which comes first the Papers or the image?  Or Maybe you design a whole layout before you start colouring.
I think my usual method is to pick the colour scheme and probably papers and then colour my image to co-ordinate. Sometimes my cards look nothing like what I initally intended to design!!
This paper is from Heidi Swapp - Favourite things pad. I kept it very simple with two bold letter stickers from Pebbles ABC and a wood chip saying from Freckled Fawn. I coloured this with a promarker and then covered it in glue and Cosmic Shimmer glitter.

I used 3D foam to attach the Diva to the card so she stood out a little from the background.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft peach, Coral, & Spice with Cocktail pink cheeks.
Hair and socks - Vermillion, Magenta & Carmine
Top & Trainers - Frosted Jade & Soft Green
Jeans & Hair - Cool Greys.

I hope you like her and don't forget the fab challenge at the Kenny K facebook page where you recieve an image just for entering!!

Thanks for stopping in - don't forget to say Hello

I glued a green stripy button to the card and used some twine to tie a charm to the card. Finally I added some co-ordinating Doodlebug Enamel dots and a resin butterfly.

I used these promarkers  and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Usual
Hair -Buttercup, Pineapple crush, Sleigh Bells & Raw Sienna.
Grass & Lush Green
Cloud Blue sky.

Food is love!

Morning -
Today is the start of a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and the theme is Love is in the Air. I have used this fab image called Trattoria Chef.

I die cut a large heart using a Spellbinders Nestibilites from My Favourite Things Paper pad Hearts and Stripes collection. I added some ribbon from my stash and three striped Card Candi dots from Craftworks cards.
The greeting was stamped using letters from Lawn Fawn alphabet called Harold's ABC.  Finally I added Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen over the grey fork to make it look metallic.

I coloured the image with these promarkers & Flexmarkers -
Skin -  Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Apron - Red, Poppy, Ruby & Burgundy
Hair  & Fork - Cool Greys

Happy Summer

Afternoon - the new challenge has literally just gone live over at the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog. I know as I have posted it!! And this challenge is ace as it is always an Anything Goes theme as long as you use an All Dressed Up image and there are sooo many beautiful ones to choose from!
For my DT card this month I have used 3 Little Summer Girls which you can get in the Etsy shop here -} All Dressed Up
Now when I decided I was going to use these girls - it WAS sunny! We had lovely weather but sadly it hasn't hung around and I think it has rained all day today!! This image demanded a warm summery colour scheme.

I used a little strip of paper from Carta Bella Beach Day which I used a My Favourite Things Scalloped edge die on for a bit of added detail. I cut a strip of ribbon from my stash and glued this to the card base. I coloured and fussy cut around the Girls and used 3d foam to add them to the card. I used a Make It Crafty wooden die cut word and coloured the base layer in yellows and the top layer with the pinks. I added a few co-ordinated Doodlebug enamel dots around the image and some white gel pen dots on the swimming costume to keep the spot and dot theme going.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the girls -
Skin - Usual
Carmine, Magenta & Vermillion
Wild Orchid, Red Violet & Boysenberry
Mango, Bright Orange & Mandarin
Hair 1 - Chestnut & Peach
Hair 2 - Buttercup, Pineapple Crush, Mustard & Sleigh Bells
Hair 3 - Cool Greys.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

So I am hoping this card will bring the sunshine back! Wishful thinking?? If not at least it reminds me of the warmer weather!

Our First Wedding Anniversary.

Wow - that year has flown! Today is our first Wedding Anniversary. So today's card is one I made for my Husband (still weird saying that!) to celebrate. First Wedding gifts are traditionally paper so that's an easy one for any crafter... Just give us a paper pad and we are happy as larry. (Who was Larry??) This is actually Morris and Mildred or is this the future for us... Ben would have to shrink from his 6ft5 and would have to put on a little weight!!

The card is made with a background from Doodlebug Sweethearts paper. I coloured and cut around Morris and Mildred and glued them on to the card. I used a fine black liner pen and drew the broken line around the paper panel. I die cut a little heart using Spellbinders nestibilities die and added the wooded button with some red twine. I attached a strip of pale blue lace from Papermania and added the extra words and numbers with Doodlebug letters. Finally I added some pearl hearts from Hobbycraft.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - usual
Morris' suit - Warm Greys
hair - Cool Greys
Dress - Pink Mittens,
Flowers and waist coat - Carmine, Vermillion & Poppy.
Leaf green and Lush green leaves
Powder blue eyes.

Ben got me these lovely flowers which are a bouquet full of different Peonies. They are my favourite and we had Peonies for our wedding flowers.

So that's all for me now so I will be back soon with some inspiration from All Dressed up.
Have a great day,

Strawberry Patch - May New Release Images.

Afternoon - Have you seen the gorgeous new images at All Dressed Up? If not get yourself over to the Challenge blog or facebook to see them all in wonderful creations or the Etsy shop to get your crafty mitts on these beauties. Make sure you share your makes with us over at Facebook and don't forget to enter them into our challenge.

This new image is called Strawberry Patch

The background paper is foiled strawberries on kraft paper which I got in a pad called Papercraft designs from Pound world! I created the mat layers from Green American Crafts card and a strawberry patterned card which is all flittered. This was from a pad I got for The Range by a make called Decotime. So this is quite the bargain make!! I used a My Favourite things inside outside stitched frame die to create the layers and also die cut a strawberry using a Sizzix die. I used onxy liquid pearls to create the pips and a little white pen on the image to highlight the strawberries.
The greeting sticker is from Jillibean soup labels from the Coconut lime collections.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Hat -  Light Fawn, Sandstone, Cinnamon & Chestnut.
Grass - Lime Zest, Lime Green & Leaf Green.
Leaves -  Lush and Pine Green
Top - Lemon, Summer sun & Gold.
Strawberries & Shoes - Red & Ruby
Jeans - Powder Blue & Cornflower.
Warm Greys 5 & 2

Hope you like what I've done with this image and looking forward to all the inspiration from seeing your creations with these new images.

Martin's 50th Birthday card.

Morning Dr Digi patients.
I have been wanting to colour this image up for ages but if I'm honest I was a little daunted by it. But it was great to play with and use all the primary bright colours! The image is called Biffo and he also comes in a coloured version.
I made this card for my Brother in laws 50th Birthday. We bought him a metal detector!! What do you get for the person who has literally everything... He was really pleased with and we may get a share in the fortune he discovers!!

I printed the image quite big and let BIFFO take center stage! I used a My Favourite things dies called Scalloped stitched edge boarder 2 (Catchy hey??) on the image panel and also on some Grey American Crafts card. I used 3d foam to raise the panel and placed enamel dots from Doodlebug in various spots around the card. The Happy Birthday is a clear sticker from Kaiser craft and the 50th are Doodlebug letter stickers and they are both so useful.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Usual
Hair, Nose and Shoes -Poppy, Ruby & Burgundy

Suit - Cool Greys 1-5
Shirt - Celestial Blue, True Blue, Egyptian Blue & Indigo Blue. Little powder blue for shading white areas.
Balloon - Lemon, Canary & Summer Sun
Balloon Dog - Meadow Green, Grass & Emerald.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

I'm pleased with how Biffo had turned out and he is perfect for any birthday card!!

Danger Dad - Kenny K stamps.

Hello -  Thought I would share this creation with you today. Its the current freebie from Kenny K and you can get your paws on it by entering the Challenge at Club Kenny K May Challenge on Facebook. The image is called Danger Dad.

I wanted to create a night sky and thought of the light signal used in Batman so I thought a round base card would be a good idea.
I covered the base with map patterned paper from DIY pad by American Crafts. I used a My Favourite things die-namics die to cut the skyline in Black and Gold and glued them together slightly of line to give a light glow.  I also used an sky / star die from MFT to cut out stars from blue card which I then die cut using Lawn Fawn Large stitched circle die. I used this die to cut the gold circle also and after gluing them together and attaching the sky line - I cut off the bottom.
I used gold sparkly letters from Hobbycraft to spell our SuperDad as I thought this could be a Fathers Day card. Finally I added gold pen details on the image for the belt and chevrons, along with a little glaze on his boots.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Cool Greys 2, 3, 4 & 5
Suit - Celestial Blue, True Blue, Egyptian Blue & Indigo Blue.
Cape - Burgundy, Ruby, Poppy & Red.
Skin - Usual

Lots more to come from me in the next few days... mainly cos I'm trying to reduce the amount I eat so need to keep busy!!

Total Drama in One layer.

Morning - today is that start of a new challenge at I love Promarkers.
The sponsor is Kenny K Stamps and the theme is One Layer. I have used an image called Total Drama. I thought this image would work perfectly with a simple one layer retro pop-art feel.

I printed the image and trimmed it down with a white boarder and mounted it on to black for my one layer. I have coloured the background of the image with a Royal Blue promarker. (One of the reasons I love these pens - no streaks!!) I coloured her hair with Canary and the top in with Poppy. I used soft peach on her skin and used a blender pen to make the dots.
I used a Docrafts letter dies on red card to spell out the saying, "How Old!"
I'm really pleased with how its turned out!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Hope to see lots of entries into the I Love Promarkers challenge -
